E.M. Bagby, former member of the State Legislature, died at the Hurley Hospital in Bentonville on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock following an illness of two weeks. The funeral services were held at the Barron cemetery on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock where burial was made. The services were conducted by Rev. T.F. Jones.

Mr. Bagby was born at Atlanta, Georgia on May 8, 1858. He came with his family to Arkansas to live when he was but eight years old and settled near Gravette. He grew up in that community and in 1890 he married Miss Mollie Alden. To this union was born seven children, five sons and two daughters. He moved to the Morning Star community where he lived for seventeen years. About three years ago he moved to Hiwasse where he was making his home at the time of his death. Two weeks ago Mr. Bagby became ill with typhoid fever, he was brought to the hospital in Bentonville Sunday morning but became no better and died Monday afternoon.

Besided his wife he is survived by his sons, Earl Bagby, Grover Bagby, Bemrra Bagby, Ernest Bagby and Ramer Bagby, who all live in the Vaughn community and who were with their father at his death. Also two daughters, Mrs. Minnie True of Idaho and Mrs. Verba Giger of Los Angeles who were unable to come home.

Mr. Bagby served one term representing the county in the State legislature beginning in 1923. He was a highly respected citizen and had the trust and confidence of the people.
