Ferd the son of Henry Jasper Whitmire and Mintie Van (Wadley) Whitmire. Ida the daughter of Marion Curtis Turley and Nora (McCarty) Turley.
Whitmire
Mrs. Ida J. Whitmire, 88, of Hoxie, died Saturday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born in Elizabeth, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Hoxie.
Survivors include one son, Teddy Whitmire of Rockford, Ill.; one daughter, Olene Ganoe of Rockford; four sisters, Roxie Kincade and Mildred Kincade, both of Hoxie, Edith Williams of Watsonville, Calif., and Willene Logan of Satsuma, Ala.; three brothers, Claude Turley and Chester Turley, both of Watsonville, and Troy Turley of Oregon; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferd Whitmire, three children and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 Tuesday afternoon at Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie with Donald Layne officiating. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
