John Sr parents are Joseph Samuel and Sallie Etta (Gables) Cannon. Anna's parents were Gennaro and Maria Cecire.

STRAWBERRY -- Anna Cannon, 89, died March 9, at Cave City Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Naples, Italy. She was the daughter of Gennaro and Maria Cecire in Italy.
She met John Monroe Cannon Sr. while he was in the Army during World War II in Italy. They married on March 30, 1946, and she came to America on a ship as a war bride on June 13, 1946. She became a U.S. citizen on Oct. 11, 1996. She was a member of the Strawberry Church of Christ and was baptized in August 1951 at Ravenden Springs in a creek. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and cooking. She especially liked making spaghetti for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Cannon Sr. who passed away in 1981, four brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren, Heath Doyle and Troy Cannon.
Survivors include her eight children, Martha Smithee of Batesville, Betty Batey of Tulsa, Okla., John Cannon Jr. and Sarah Doyle, both of Strawberry, Rosa Farmer of Batesvile, Judy Richey of Marion, William and Danny Cannon of Clyde, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Strawberry Church of Christ with Chris Buxton, Jeff Holland and Don House officiating. Burial will follow in Ward Cemetery at Strawberry under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
Visitation will be today from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeremy Batey, Brett Cannon, Michael Doyle, Scott Cannon, Bryson and Cody Cannon. Lasting memorial may be made to the Strawberry Church of Christ or the Children's Home of Paragould, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, 72450.
