Ruby Violett Patrick, 91, of Springdale died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Springdale. She was born May 20, 1914, in Prairie Grove, the daughter of Charles A. and Hettie Neal Broughton. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Denver Poston and Benjamin Patrick. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Angelita, and her four sisters, Minnie Mae Broughton Bayles, Mary Julia Broughton Cooper, Myrtle Nettie Broughton Walters Hestwood and Virginia Etta Broughton Douthit.

She is survived by one daughter, Zo Rella and son-in-law, Wendell Parsons; four grandsons, Richard (and Rhonda) Seals of Bentonville, Ronald (and Melanie) Seals of Labelle, Fla., Randy (and Andrea) Brown of Springdale and David (and Sarai) Brown of Rogers; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was saved at 13 years of age and was baptized and joined the Baptist Church in Pierce City; Mo., in March 1927. She began tithing when a girl. Although she could not send much to each one, she helped send the gospel to China, India, Russia, Israel, Iraq and other parts of the world through the years.

She taught Sunday school classes and attended church regularly as long as her health permitted. For several years, she owned and operated a religious book and gift shop on North Thompson Street in Springdale. Later, she was employed at the Ben Franklin Store in Springdale until she retired. She moved to Missouri by her daughter, then to St. Paul and returned to Springdale in 1976.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Edward "Sam" Judd and the Rev. Kelly Nesbitt officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Burial will be in Son's Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Pallbearers will be Ron Seals, Rich Seals, David Brown and Randy Brown.
