Hazel Ione Parnell Cox, age 75, of Mt. Home passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007, in Little Rock. Funeral services will be 2PM Thrusday at Norfork Church of Christ with Brother Jim Winland officiating. Visitation will be noon-9PM Wednesday, with the family receiving friends 6-8PM at Roller Funeral Home.
She was born March 19, 1932, in Norfork to Earl A. and Lucy Bell (Dickerson) Parnell. She married Vernon Eugene Cox on Nov 15, 1949, in Mt. Home. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ, most of that time being at the Norfork Church of Christ. She retired from Baxter Health Care in 1993 with 25 years of service.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her son, Billy Ray Cox of Mt. Home; two grandsons, William Travis Cox and wife Kristi of Mt. Home and Zachariah Patrick Cox and wife Brandy of Moore, OK; two great granddautghters, Erika Cox of Mt. Home and Lundyn Cox of Moore; a brother, Tom Parnell of Calico Rock and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; parents; six brothers, Ralph, Ray, Ernie, Gene, Lynn and Carl Parnell; and two sisters, Lena Chapman and Virgie Cox.
She loved her family, church and spending time in her garden. A special thanks to her church family, Dale Cox and Kay Watts.
Interment will be in Galatia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Cox, Zak Cox, Dale Cox, Bruce Cox, Jack Hughes and Devon Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Dean Cox, Audrey Watts, Jr., Dwayne Reeves, Stan Bridgeman and Gene Porter.
