*Obituary (as written)
Benton County Democrat
Thursday, April 8, 1909
FREEMAN, George W. - George W. Freeman died at 8:15 o'clock on Friday, April 2, 1909 at the home of his son, F.T. Freeman, at Hugo, Okla., aged eighty-three years, eight months and twenty-three days. The remains were brought here and interred in the city cemetery Saturday at 4:00 o'clock p.m. The deceased had been sorely afflicted for the past several months. Mr. Freeman had lived many years in this city. He was a good, industrious, honest citizen. He was one of the most energetic and methodical men the writer ever knew and this trait of character was exhibited by him even long after affliction had laid hold of him. He was quiet and unassuming, always busy with his own affairs and with neither time nor inclination to intrude in other people's affairs. He leaves an aged wife and two sons, Frank and Ed, to mourn his loss and to them we extend sincerest sympathy in their bereavement.
