Della Modena Neuhaus Ely
1920 - 2011
Della M. Ely, 90 of Conway, passed away at her home, on Thursday, January 27, 2011. Born in Diaz, Arkansas, she was a daughter to the late Henry and Ona (Henry) Neuhaus. Della was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of the University Church of Christ. She had been an office manager for Searcy Frozen Foods, a receptionist for Searcy Medical Center and worked at Pattie Cobb Cafeteria at Harding University. She and her husband Lewis D. Ely founded both the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts in Searcy.
Della was preceded in death by her husband Lewis D. Ely, daughters, Elizabeth Clair Bawcom, an infant daughter, and six siblings: Edward Neuhaus, Doris Neuhaus, Gerty Simmons, Hester Poole, Wayne Neuhaus and Hugh Neuhaus.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, at University Church of Christ in Conway with Ross Cochran officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
