Robert Lewis Cunningham, age 77, of Jacksonville went to be with his Lord Sunday, June 24, 2012. He was born March 15, 1935 in Mexico, Missouri to the late Robert Vincent Cunningham and Mary A. Cunningham. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and he retired from Remington Arms Company. Mr. Cunningham was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He was a loving and kind, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Cunningham.
He is survived by his sons; Robert M. Cunningham and his wife Susan, Kevin Vincent Cunningham, two sisters; Shirley Deichman and her husband Clarence, Wanda Aldersonand her husband Bob, two grandchildren; James Hunt, Sarah Cagle, and four great-grandchildren; James Talon Hunt, Nicholas Madison, Jasmine Sutton, and Kayla Sutton.
The family would like to thank the McClellan VA Hospital, and the administration and nursing staff of Ft. Roots for all the love and care they gave to Mr. Cunningham.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park with military honors.
