Noel the son of Robert Rhea Cooper and Maude Thompson Cooper. Evelyn (Doyle) Cooper the daughter of Clinton Wyatt Holder and Telitha Louvesta (Doyle) Holder.

Evelyn Cooper

Evelyn Cooper, 87, of Jonesboro, died May 9, 2008, in Memphis.

Born in Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of Clinton Wyatt and Telitha Doyle Holder. She was a homemaker and was a member of the United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Noel Cooper; two sisters, Mae Godwin and Mildred Beltran; and two brothers, Bill Holder and Cameron Holder.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Matthews and husband Donald, Jonesboro; a sister, Juanita Zacheis, Jonesboro; a brother, Clinton Holder, Jonesboro; and a grandson, Jason Matthews.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at United Free Will Baptist Church with Ben Scott officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jack Allison, Charles Rickey, David Baltz, Earl Borah, Barry Holder and Billy Holder. Honorary pallbearers were the adult Sunday school class of United Free Will Baptist Church.
