Edith Carolyn (Dawson) Sharp wife of Sloan Wilson Sharp. Edith Carolyn (Dawson) Sharp daughter of David Augustus Dawson and Millie (Sexton) Dawson.


Edith Sharp

Edith C. Sharp, 86, of Silvis, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. Interment will be at a later date in Arkansas. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Edith was born June 17, 1921, in Saffell, Ark., the daughter of David G. and Millie M. Sexton Dawson. She was united in marriage to Sloan Sharp; he preceded her in death in October 1956.

Edith worked as an aide at the former State Hospital in East Moline for 20 years prior to her retirement.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Thomas (Linda) Sharp, East Moline; grandsons, James (Angie) Sharp, Baltimore, Md., and Matt Sharp, Atlanta, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Elias and Ambrose Sharp.

Her parents, three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
