Erwin Bridges, aged 44, died at his home in Locust Bayou at 9:30 o'clock Saturday night after a long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday Afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Locust Bayou Christian church with burial in Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. J. T. Purvis of Camden, officiated, assisted by L. C. Sears of Searcy. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mary Ann; three sons, John, Colin and Ralph Bridges all of Locust Bayou; four sisters, Mrs. J. P. Hollis of Locust Bayour, Mrs. Joe Priddy of Henderson, Texas, Mrs. Terrel Bussel of Magnolia; and Mrs. Lester Tolbert of Bearden; three brothers, J. H. Bridges of Bodcaw, N.F. Bridges of Camden; and Graydon Bridges of Shreveport. Proctor mortuary was in charge of funeral services and pallbearers were J. P. Hollis, Johnny Collie, Terrel Bussey, Lester Talbert, E. G. Coston, and Harry Robertson. (Camden News - March 1, 1937)
