Died January 8, 1915, Baxter County, Arkansas.
Married Alfred Marion Clark on February 6, 1866, in Johnsonville, Wayne County, Illinois.

Mrs. A.M. Clark, a most loving companion and mother and a true Christian worker, died last Monday evening at 6:00 o'clock after an illness of four weeks of Apoplexy. Her's was a true Christain life.
Susan C.E. Burgess was born in Wayne County, Tennessee, February 18, 1849. when she was three years old, she came with her widowed mother to Wayne County, Illinois and settled near Johnsonville. She was married to A.M. Clark on February 8, 1866 and took up housekeeping on a farm near Johnsonville, where they lived till the fall of 1877 when they move to Baxter County, Arkansas. She died ther August 1, 1915. to this union were born 14 children. She is survived by her husband, 10 living children and 37 grandchildren.
She was a woman of good health until about 2 years ago when she had a stroke of Apoplexy. She had them often 2 or 3 weeks apart, until God called her home.
She was the last of Aunt Polly Burgess's family and the baby child. All of her brothers and sisters are dead. Her brother, Green Burgess, died in Oklahoma 3 years ago and her sister, Jane Gibbs, died in Wayne County, Illinois a short time ago.

It is not certain whether this was an obituary or eulogy for Susan Catherine Elizabeth 'Kate' Burgess Clark. There is a stong possibiliy that it was an obituary that was printed in 'The Baxter County Citizan', Mt. Home, Arkansas.
It was furnished by Mrs. Mary Lee Lackey Nelson. Mrs. Nelson stated that it was given to her by Mrs. Jessie Lee Adams Zornes.
Mrs. Nelson reported that at the time of Mrs. Clark's death, the 10 surviving children were as follows; Logan Clark, Emmer Rhoda Cunningham, Mary E. Lackey, J. Fred Clark, J. Frank Clark, Clemon Davenport, George A. Clark, Leander Clark, Estella Clark (later Adams), amd Myrtle Clark (later Johnson). She was preceded in death by two infants-William and Virginia-and two other children-Ida Clark Hager and Thomas Clark.
