WILLINGHAM, Elizabeth ELDER - Elizabeth Elder was born in Laclede Co., Mo. April 8, 1843 and died at her home in Rogers, Ark. Dec. 10, 1918 at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 2 days, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon by Rev. J.D. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church, and her body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Oakley's Chapel. The deceased moved to Arkansas and was married to James Willingham in 1858 and to this union were born 8 children, seven daughters and one son, and with the exception of one, all are living and all but one daughter have been with her during her illness and death. The children are: Mrs. Anna Crocker of Chelsea, Okla.; Mrs. W. A. Wardlow, Mrs. Jas. Hardin, Mrs. W.B. Kennan, Mrs. Ike Woodruff, Mrs. Charlie Hayes and John Willingham, all of Rogers. She joined the Baptist church in girlhood and was still a member of that church at the time of her death. She was a good woman, a kind neighbor and a loving mother. Mrs. Willingham was widely known in Rogers and vicinity and she has a host of friends who mourn her death.
