McSPADDEN, Elizabeth Ann Williams – Mrs. Elizabeth Ann McSpadden was born in Lawrence County, Missouri April 8, 1837 and departed this life December 29, 1900 in Benton County, Arkansas. Her maiden name was Williams. She was married to T.A. McSpadden September 8, 1853. To them were born twelve children, five of them having preceded her to the spirit land, leaving seven to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. Of the seven living all were present except one. Sister McSpadden was converted and joined the M.E. Church, South at the age of 13 years, in which she lived as a consistent Christian till death. She was a member of Oakley Chapel class. She was true to her vows. She was kind to the poor and afflicted; when she went into the homes of the needy, she went to do something. Such were always glad to see her come. Many will rise up in the glory world and call her blessed. Bro. McSpadden, you will miss her, no more will she come at your call, but blessed be God, you can go to her. In behalf of the church, who has lost one of her charter members, and the community a worthy neighbor, we shall miss her. Her funeral was preached at Oakley Chapel by the writer, after which she was laid to rest in Oakley Chapel Cemetery. In Sympathy, L.A. Blevans.
