FARMER, Wade H. - Wade Farmer, an old and well known citizen of Benton county, died at his home near Colville last Saturday and was interred at the Oakley Chapel cemetery Sunday. He was nearly 90 years old at the time of his death. He lived for many years just west of Bentonville. He was always regarded as an excellent citizen.

Wade H. Farmer was born in Seanacha Valley, Bledsoe county, Tenn. September 9th, 1818, died at his home three miles west of Lowell and eight miles south of Bentonville, March 2, 1907, aged 88 years, 5 months and 23 days. He came to Benton County, Ark. in 1840. Was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson who was the grandmother of G.P. Jackson of Bentonville, in 1844. Bro. Farmer was married the second time to Mrs. Rutha Langston February 14, 1867. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church for many years but later in life became a member of the M.E. church, South and lived a member of this church until death. The writer, who had been his pastor for four years, at the request of his family, conducted his funeral services at Oakley Chapel and in the midst of a large crowd of sympathizing friends and relatives his remains were tenderly consigned to their last resting place. Bro. Farmer was a good man and had often told the writer of his faith in God and his readiness to depart and to be at peace. His wife and children sorrow not as those who have no hope. Y.A. Gilmore.

FARMER, Ruth Ann - Mrs. Wade Farmer died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milt McSpadden, northwest of Rogers, after a long illness. She was 90 years old and had made her home with her daughter for some twenty years, her husband having died many years ago. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.A. Womack, pastor of the Central Methodist Church of which she was a member. Burial was in Oakley Chapel cemetery. The family were among the early pioneers of Benton County and most of Mrs. Farmer's life was spent here. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. McSpadden and Mrs. George Shaffer of Rogers, and one son, Wade Farmer of Webb City, Missouri.

Mrs. Ruth Ann Farmer, 90 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milt McSpadden, northwest of town, Sunday afternoon following a long illness. Funeral services will be held from the home at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. J.A. Womack, pastor of the Central Methodist Church, in charge. She was a member of the Central Methodist church for years. Burial will be in Oakley Chapel cemetery. Mrs. Farmer had been in ill health for some time and a fall last spring made her an invalid. She was a pioneer Benton County family, she and her husband, the late Wade Farmer, living in the vicinity of Rogers and Bentonville for many years. For the last 18 years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Milt McSpadden. She leaves 2 daughters and 1 son, Mrs. McSpadden, Mrs. George Shaffer, both of Rogers, and Wade farmer of Webb City, Missouri.
