Died, at his residence two miles Southwest of Bentonville, Jan. 18, 1892 Hugh L. Middleton, aged 78 years and five month's.
Mr. Middleton, was born in Blount county, Tenn., Aug. 18, 1813. Was married to Miss Mary Wilson, Sept. 25, 1839 moved to Arkansas in 1850: from Arkansas to Green Co. Mo., and from there to the place where he died, in 1866. He was buried in the Hart Cemetery. The immediate cause of his death was la grippe.
The grim messenger is never welcome and in this case a deep shadow of gloom is cast over the family. The loved and lovable old man has gone from among his family and friends, and they are left to bear the heavy burden of grief. His place in the family circle is now vacant, and the fond memory of his life and virtues is all that remains. These will be treasured in the years to come. Let us hope that He, who doeth all things well, will administer consolation to the wounded hearts, and enable them to live so that when they are called away they will be mourned with a sincere sorrow. Mr. Middleton was a highly respected citizen, and in his death, the whole community suffers loss. The bereaved family have the sympathy of our whole people.
