J. R. Conrad Dies at Home Near Gorby
Jessie R. Conrad, well known citizen of the Gorby community, died at his home Monday, at the age of 85. He had been ill for several months.
Mr Conrad was a native of Warren County, Tennessee and came to Izard County at the age of three. Practically all of his life was spent in this vicinity. In 1891 he was married to Sarah Belle Lenox.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dewey and Harlin Conrad of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs Willis Ellis of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs Lillie Stanley of Calico Rock; Mrs Lena Gillihan of Boswell, Ark., and two sisters, Mrs Combs and Miss Conrad, both of Boswell, Ark. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services conducted by Elder Clifton Willis were held at the graveside Tuesday at 3:30 o’clock. Burial was in the Jones Cemetery with the Hall Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
