Died August 9, 1957, Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas.
Daughter of Rev. Green Boyd Griffin and Mary Melton Griffin.
Married (1) James Alexander Arnold on July 26, 1893, at Big Flat, Baxter County, Arkansas.
Married (2) Olaf Kristofer Berg.

Lucinda Catherine "Lucy" Griffin Arnold Berg served as employee of the U. S. Post Office department for 30 years, and was postmistress
at Old Joe, Iuka, and Chastain.

Mrs. Lucinda Catherine Berg, 81, a resident of Baxter County for about 60 years, died Friday evening in the Batesville hospital.
Funeral services were at 2PM Sunday in the Galatia Methodist Church with Rev. Robert B. Howerton and Rev. Harry Jowett officiating.
Mrs. Berg, who was born January 23, 1876 in Leslie was the daughter of the late Rev. Green Boyd Griffin and Mrs. Mary Melton Griffin of Sercy County. Her father was a pioneer Methodist minister who served as pastor for 33 years. Mrs. Berg was named for her grandmother, Mrs. Lucinda Begley Griffin; who was born in an Indian camp at Capt. Leslie's Spring near Leslie.
She was the great granddaughter of R.D.C. Griffin who was one of the pioneers of Sercy County and helped establish the town of Leslie. Her grandfather was Rev. Jesse Griffin, also a pioneer Methodist minister.
When Mrs. Berg was 12 years of age her family moved to Valley Springs, where she attended school. When she was 15, her parents sent her to the Yellville Institute, and later they moved to Big Flat, where she attended school.
Whe she was 17 she met James Alexander Arnold of Izard County who was attending school at Big Flat and they married there on July 26, 1893. They resided in many communities of Baxter and Izard Counties and Mr. Arnold was a teacher. They were also engaged in the mercantile business and farming.
She served as an employee of the US Post Office Department for 30 years and was postmistress at Old Joe, Iuka and Chastin.
She has been a member of the Methodist Church since the age of 12 years.
Mr. Arnold prceded her in death on August 7, 1927.
Mrs. Berg's second marriage was to Olaf K. Berg, a native of Norway, who died at Norfork in March of 1955.
Since Mr. Berg's death she has lived with her children and grandchildren and has recently been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Mertie Harris of Little Rock.
She was the mother of ten children, four of whom preceded her in death, her children, gandchildren and great grandchildren totaled 100.
Survivors include two sons, J. Arnold and Grffin Arnold of Guion; four daughters, Mrs John D. King,Sr. of Walnut Creek, CA, Mrs. William Dwelle of Old Joe, Mrs. Mertia Harris of Little Rock and Mrs. Bill Weaver of Guion; two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Arnold of Old Joe and Mrs. O.C. Lloyd of Montgomery, AL, 34 grandchildren, and 56 great grandchildren.
Included among her grandchildren are J.D. King, Jr., and Mrs. Glacen May of Mt. Home.
Pallbearers were Quinby Swearingen, Jack Bonner, W.J. McVey, Joe Matthews, W.S. Benbrook and Ed Pinkston. Honorary pallbearers were E.C. Rodman, Seth Matthews, A.H. Matthews and Perry Matthews.
Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery. Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville and Roller Funeral Home of Mt. Home were in charge of arrangements.
