CLARK, Sallie Kate BRITT - Sallie Kate Britt was born near Bentonville, Ark. June 13, 1882 and died June 22, 1905 of consumption. She spent her earlier years at her birthplace, a kind and loving daughter, sister and friend. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church, South in August 1896 and ever after lived the true life that made her able to say when the end was near, "I am ready to go." Of a quiet disposition, she was loved by her friends and highly respected by her acquaintances. All know her was to have a faithful friend, to possess a companion who was willing to share one's griefs and to partake of one's joys. On the 24th of December 1903 Kate was married to W.R. Clark and shortly afterwards removed to her home near Yukon, Oklahoma where she spent the remainder of her life until she was brought home by a faithful, loving brother to receive from the hands of those nearest and dearest to her the last loving services that could render her illness more bearable. We are indeed sad and weep that she is gone but in our hearts we know that we would not call her back to suffer again what she has so patiently endured. How hard it is to give up one of our sweetest companions in the morning of her life when the sun is brightest and all around is so full of light and beauty. We can sincerely say that in the death of Kate Clark has gone out one of those beautiful lives and may the memory of her death go with her loved ones as an inspiration to higher and nobler living, that living which makes us able to lie down to our final rest in peace and not in dread. To the loved ones who mourn her loss it may seem as though the fairest flower has left the old garden, but we have her example and triumphant death as a solace and may we quietly submit to the will of our Heavenly Father and find consolation in the knowledge that she has gone to join her loved ones. She leaves in our hearts a regard too deep for pen to tell and if in that far country one knows of those left behind, she will know that our love follows her beyond the grave. A Cousin.
