Roy Ned Atkins, age 84, of Benton; passed away Thursday June 26, 2008. He was born August 24, 1923, in New Edinburg, Arkansas. Mr. Atkins worked for Jacuzzi and Jones Pallet Mill. He was a member and Deacon of East Side Baptist Church in Benton. Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Atkins and Annie Vinson; wife, Bessie Atkins; two brothers, Frank and Arthur Atkins and a sister, Betty Jean Greathouse.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ruth Tully and husband Porter and Grace Whorton and husband Larry all of Benton; brother, Odis Atkins of Eudora; three grandchildren, Chris Tully and wife Michelle, Creig Tully and wife Sara and Callie Bellinger and husband Chad; six great-grandchildren, Alan Goss, Grant Christopher Tully, Maranda Tully, Shelby Tully, Bryan McCoy and Kelsey McCoy and a host of nieces, nephews and other family relatives. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 30 at East Side Baptist Church with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery. Bro. Stephen Raines will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Health Center.
