Obituary
Jerry Ivens of Mt. Home died Saturday (April 15, 1995) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 45.
Mr. Ivens was born Oct 26, 1949, at Buffalo City, AR, to Harlin D. and Edna G. Doughlas Ivens.
He served with the army durning th Vietnam War. Mr. Ivens was an edger in a sawmill and also was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a Southern Baptist.
He is survived by his mother, Edna G. Ivens of Mt. Home; a brother, Rex Ivens and his wife Marsha of Gassville; four sisters, Sandra and her husband, Floyd Blakenship of Calico Rock, Marjetta and her husband William White of Mt. Home, Joan and her husbnd Roger Marler, and Michelle and her husband Mike Hood, all of Gassville; and a half sister, Glenda Carrol Ivens of Kansas City, MO.
Mr. Ivens was preceded in death by his father, Harlin Ivens.
Visitation will be from 9AM to 9PM Tuesday at Roller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM. Funeral will be at 2PM Wednesday at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Louis Stephen officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the North Central Arkansas Veteran Council, Ozark VFW Post 3246.
Burial will be at Burnt School House Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gerald Henderson, Larry Barker, Gary Nesbitt, Harold Nesbitt, Ricky Nesbitt, Ron Bolding, David Haney and William White. Honorary pallbearers are Ray D. Knight, Clifford Flock, Willie Haney and Mark Blakenship.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home in Mt. Home.
