STOKES, John C. - (from The Rogers Democrat) F.L. Stokes of near Garfield was in town Monday soliciting assistance in raising funds to investigate the death of his son, John C. Stokes, who died several weeks ago at Keystone, Okla. It was reported that young Stokes committed suicide but the family believe he was murdered and want to send J.S. Herod of Garfield to investigate the matter.
