POSEY, B.P. - (from Walnut Hill, for last week) We lost one of our oldest citizens when Bro. B.P. Posey passed away last Wednesday, March 5, 1919. He was known as Uncle Pink and was born in Taswell, Calhoun county, Tenn. July 10, 1846, being 76 years, 6 months and 25 days old. He was married to Sarah Ratcliff Jan. 12, 1871. To this union were born eight children, five boys and three girls, five of whom preceded him from this world. Uncle Pink was the next youngest of a family of eight children and left an orphan at the age of two years. A little later on moved to Arkansas and spent the most of his boyhood days on the farm known as the Bill Fuzell place near Pleasant Hill. He professed a hope in Christ when 22 years old and joined the Baptist church. His remains were followed by his wife, sons George and Mose and a great host of friends. He was laid to rest in Walnut Hill cemetery where Bro. J.V. Bilberry conducted the services. Bro. Posey's sickness was short, being up part of the day Sunday, joking and talking to some friends. Now his suffering is over and his spirit awaits the judgement.
