Dale the son of Oren Cecil Saffell and Susan "Susie" Juliette (Parr) Saffell. Lola the daughter of George Herbert (Hub) Mize and Flora Jane (Sharp) Mize.

SAFFELL - Walbert "Dale" Saffell, 79, of Saffell, died Monday at his home following a short illness.

A lifetime resident of Saffell, he was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 91st Infantry. A retired farmer and timber worker, he was a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Strawberry.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Mae Mize Saffell of the home; two daughters, Nyoka Vaulner of Jonesboro and Peggy Sullivan of Strawberry; one brother, Talmadge Saffell of Jonesboro; two sisters, Fern Glasco of Strawberry and Madeline Stinett of Little Rock; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City, with Harold Boyd and Remil Layton officiating. Burial was in the Godwin Cemetery at Saffell.

SAFFELL - Lola Mae Saffell, 82, of Saffell died Sunday at White River Medical Center at Batesville.
Survivors include her daughters, Nyoka Vaulner of Magness and Peggy Sullivan and husband Carl of Strawberry; brother, James Mize and wife Ruth of Saffell; sister, Berline Sullivan of Moline, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Her parents, George and Flora Mize; husband, Dale Saffell; infant son; four brothers; and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Qualls Cave City Funeral Home with burial in Godwin Cemetery at Saffell.
Visitation will be this evening from 6-8.

Lola Mae Saffell (Died April 27, 2008)

Lola Mae Saffell, age 82 of Saffell passed away Sunday April 27, 2008 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born March 21, 1926 in Leslie, Arkansas to George Herbert and Flora (Sharp) Mize. She had been a resident of Saffell most of her life and was a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Bapitst Church in Strawberry.

Lola was married to Dale Saffell on October 31, 1942. Mr Saffell preceded her in death on April 9, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and infant son, four brothers, Edward Mize, Tola Mize, J. S. Mize and C. B. Mize, two sisters, Vergie Doyle and Velma Daggett.

Survivors include two daughters, Nyoka Vaulner of Magness and Petty Sullivan and husband Carl of Strawberry, one brothers, James Mize and wife Ruth of Saffell, one sister, Berline Sullivan of Moline, Illinois, four grandchildren, Cindy Vaulner of Magness, Carla Crouch and husband Tim of Strawberry, Paul Vaulner and wife Debra of Saffell and Richard Sullivan and wife Kelly of Marion, six great grandchildren, Brittany Sullivan, Ashton, Vinson, Laura Crouch, Charlotte Crouch, Cameron Vaulner and Cooper Vaulner.

Funeral services will begin Wednesday April 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City Bro. Charles Morgan officiating. Burial will follow int he Godwin Cemetery located in Saffell with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will begin Tuesday April 29, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Keith Mize, Kenny Mize, Winred Saffell, Danny Doyle, Buster Sullivan and Richard Sullivan.

Honorary pallbearers are G. H. Doyle, Jimmy Doyle, Jerry Doyle, Eddie Doyle, Bobby Doyle, Larry Mize, Garry Mize, Johnny Mize, Kevin Stinnett, Reginald Saffell, Terry Sullivan and Dennis Sullivan.
