Mrs. Annie Mershon, Aged 78, of Brockwell, departed this life on June 2, 1981 at New Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. She was the daugther of Thomas Morgan and Columbia Mitchell Morgan.
Mrs. Mershon had lived in Izard County all her life and was a member of Oxford Baptist Chruch.
Survivors include her husband, Ashley Mershon of the home; 3 sons, Demelee Floyd of Indianapolis, IN, Benny Floyd of Calico Rock, Wayne Floyd of Independence, MO; 6 daughters, Marie Ranger of Seattle, WA, Cassie Lee Creighton of Batesville, Margie Eaton of Quincy, IN, Anna Lee Davis of Cave City, Erma Kay Guiltner of Brockwell and Sharon Davis of Stone Mt., GA; one sister Hulda Franks of West Plains, MO; ten stepchildren, Bill Sharp of Brockwell, Lester Floyd of Wenatchee, WA, Ada Hamilton and Lenora Kratz both of Wenatchee, Neva Wyatt of Melbourne, Reba Staggs of Salem, D.T. Floyd of Independence, MO, Alice Brunes of Calico Rock, Louis Mershon of Mt. Home, Elizabeth Worsham of Salem; also 50 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren.
Funeral was at Brockwell Tabernacle on June 5, at 2PM, Rev. Duane Flood and Rev. James Davis officiating. Burial was in Owens Cemetery with Howard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Howard Blankenship, James Dillard, Carroll Dillard, Tony Trotter, Steve Stephen and Hairl Everett.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam Sharp, Son Lamb, Ray Worsham, and Lewis Mershon.
