Funeral services for Sherrod W. Marshall Jr., 55, of West Fork, who died Monday in a Springdale hospital, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Nelson's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.
Born Feb. 12, 1919 at Fayetteville, the son of Sherrod W. Sr. and Maude Phelan Marshall, he was a member of the Center Street Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Inez Burton Marshall of the home; one son, Sherrod Marshall II of West Fork, rather than three sons as earlier reported Nelson's; one daughter, Mrs. Marsha Glenn of West Fork; two brothers, I. L. Marshall and Blooks Marshall of Farmington; four sisters, Mrs. Loretta Jones and Mrs. Jean Pryor of Fayetteville, Mrs. Carolyn Waggoner of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Kaye Canfield of West Fork; his mother, of Fayetteville and two grandchildren.

WEST FORK — Inez Bernice Burton Marshall, 78, of the Mineral Springs community of West Fork died Dec. 18, 1999, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born April 12, 1921, in Lincoln, Ala., to Charles Cleveland and Bernice Burton. She was a mechanical draftsman for the electrical project of the B-29 bomber at Biggs Field Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas, a secretary and bookkeeper for Fruehauf Trailer Co. In El Paso and was a former employee of Fayetteville City Hospital. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrod William Marshall Jr., on Jan. 6, 1975.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Glenn and Chester of West Fork; one son, Sherrod William "Sonny" Marshall III of West Fork; four grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Burton of Gadston, Ala.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with burial in Baptist Ford Cemetery. Tommy Glenn and Leon Glenn will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
