BOGARDUS, Mrs. Phil (MILLER) - (from Honey Creek) Mrs. Phil Bogardus, 25 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Miller, died at Aberdeen, S. Dak. and the body was brought here for burial in Wann cemetery last Friday.

*Information provided by a relative:

Dear Judy, Harrison Miller was my grandpa, and his daughters were Cora and Nettie, who should be buried in the same area. Thank you so much for the photo-it means the world to me to see they are being taken care of. I never knew any of them, since I was born in 1937. I was born and raised in California-which is still my home. Mama said Grandpa was one of the sweetest and most kind men, and always a gentleman of the old school. They owned 60 acres of farmland in Southwest City, Mo. and Honey Creek ran through the property. My dad, Clarence lived there for awhile, but he and my mom came to California in 1936 to be near relatives. According to family history, the girls were buried on a hilltop on the property and it was deeded to the city in perpetuity when he died-so, it must have been adjacent to the Wann cemetery. Aunt Nettie died of TB, and Aunt Cora died in childbirth-her little son did not survive. Aunt Cora was a beloved schoolteacher. Aunt Nettie was a telephone operator. They were beautiful young women from photos.
