Jimmy M. Stanton, 63, of Fordyce, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at his home. He was born June 19, 1943 in Bearden, Arkansas to the late Ben Stanton and Lizzie Hearnsberger Stanton Brown. He was retired from the Fordyce Police Department. He also served in the U. S. Navy and was currently a part time deputy for the Dallas County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Fordyce. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Virginia Sue Stanton. He is survived by his wife, Susie Stanton of Fordyce; one son, Vince Stanton of Smackover; two step-sons, Andy Stanton of Conway and Charles Stanton of Truman; two sisters, Juanita Hicks of Shreveport, LA and Margaret Walker of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Sawyer and Spencer Stanton, both of Smackover; and five step-grandchildren, Charles & Katie Stanton of Truman, AR, & Celina, Tommy, and Jackson Stanton of Conway, AR. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 AM at the First United Pentecostal Church in Fordyce. Burial will be at Stoney Point Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobby Hartgen & Rev. Bo Hollis officiating. The Family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Sunday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
