WALNUT RIDGE — Lovis Stewart, aged 81, formerly of Imboden, died Sunday night at Lawrence Memorial Hospital at Walnut Ridge.

She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Randolph County, the daughter of Ed and Callie Horsman. Lovis married Charles Stewart on Dec. 23, 1948, at Lynn. Charles preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1995.

Lovis was Queen Bee of the Red Hat Society and the correspondent for the Clear Springs News for many years. She was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church and an active member of the community.

Survivors include two sons, Jim and Chris Stewart of Caseyville, Ill., and Bob and Debbie Stewart of Johnson City, N.Y.; two daughters, Rita and Dan Osborne of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Cindy and Claude Lee of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. in Higginbotham Chapel at Walnut Ridge with burial to follow in Powhatan Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight in Higginbotham Chapel.
