A former teacher at Springdale High School
She was a frequently published poet, and wrote about her experience as a WW II ship welder in "The Welder", originally published in the Saturday Evening Post on 2000. Her poem was featured at the dedication of the Rosie the Riveter National memorial
"Bold, tender and true, and my loving companion."
