Velmer Beasley, 91

BLACK ROCK Velmer Beasley, 91, of Black Rock died Sunday in Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born at Imboden, he had lived at Lynn before moving to Black Rock 29 years ago. He was a farmer.

Survisors include four daughters, Shelia Midgett of Black Rock, Judy Fleming of Hoxie, Norma Haigwood of Hot Springs and Audrey Lenderman of Walnut Ridge; three sons, Thomas Beasley and Billy Beasley, both of Pocahontas, and Terry Beasley of Portia; 33 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Beasley, one son and one daughter.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oak Forest Cemetery at Black Rock, with the Rev. Wayne Bryant officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers will be Billy Pearson, John Martin, Norman Goad, Frankie Jackson, Ray Rogers and William Wilson.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
