OBITUARY

Mrs. J. M. Rector, (nee Ellen Hall) was born Feb. 1st 1856 died March 28th 1919. She was laid to rest in the Norfork Cemetery, funeral service were conducted by her pastor Rev. Ven Hall.
She was married to J. M. Rector on Dec. 7th 1873. Six daughters were born to their union.
She leaves six daughters, three brothers, two sisters, a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. She joined the M. E. Church early in life of which she lived a faithful member until her death. She was in poor health for several years but was confined to her bed three weeks in her last sickness. She succumbed to dropsy. Those who knew her best loved her best. She was ever ready to minister a kindness, or wait upon anyone in sickness or distress. Thursday morning before she died Friday, she said: I have only a short time to stay, only one more night, then I'm going home, Children don't grieve, I wish I could go now. She was conscious to the end. Her last words were "I want to go", almost in a whisper.

Oh dear sisters, may we live as useful a life as sweet mother did so when our life's journey is over, we may meet death as she did, ready and over anxious to depart to our heavenly home, tho' we all meet no more on earth. I pray God, we all may meet Father and Mother around the great white throne above where there are no sad parting.
