Esther Spikes Montgomery was the daughter of J C "Lum" & Thelma E (Brown) Spikes. She married Tom L Montgomery in 1924 in Randolph County Arkansas. Esther died 25 May 1925 at Shannon, Randolph County Arkansas, just a short time after her marriage to Tom Montgomery. The following excerpt, in reference to her death, was published in the Pocahontas Star Herald.
"Mrs Montgomery, died at her home near Shannon May 25 and was buried at Antioch near Hamil the next day. She was the daughter of Mr & Mrs Lum Spikes."
Esther's name is on the same tombstone with her parents, Lum & Thelma Spikes.
Note: the Arkansas Death Record Index gives the death date as 26 May 1925.
