July 19, 1900 - February 23, 1965
W. E. "Bill" Armstrong, 64, of Calion died at a local hospital at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday after a short illness. He was born July 19, 1900. He was a member of the Warren Baptist Church and the Champagnolle Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Bell Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. R. E. Bowers of Calion and Mrs. Billy Duran of Banks; two brothers, L. M. Armstrong of Banks and Randall Armstrong of San Francisco, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Floy May Alexander of Malvern, Mrs. Troy Stewart of Freeport, Tex., Mrs. Vera Hall of Banks, Mrs. Rosie Evans of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Audrey Wright of Monticello; and five granddaughters and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday at the Calion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Champagnolle cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Ables, George Blackwood, Alfred Parker, Prather Hines, Lavalle Tinsley and Clinton Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be A. O. Hobbs, Jack Tippy, Julius Holt and Ernest Smith.
