Nancy Lou Bowden, 65, of West Fork, died Thursday, August 28, 1997, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1932, at Fayetteville, the daughter of Edgar Hill and Rebecca Dameron Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Bowden, April 16, 1989, and a daughter, Robin Geary, May 28, 1991.

She was former owner and operator of Jim's Grocery in West Fork, and was currently employed by Git N Split in West Fork. She was a member of West Fork Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Bowden and Hal Bowden, both of West Fork; two daughters, Lydia Redmon and Fran Abuhaleema, both of West Fork; her mother, Rebecca Jane Williams of Fayetteville; a brother, Bill Williams of West Fork; two sisters, Margaret Tooley of Fayetteville, and Lydia Jane Harbison of West Fork; and six grandchildren.

Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at Moore's Chapel with the Rev. Randy Burris and Chaplain J.W. Walker officiating. Burial was in the West Fork Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the West Fork Cemetery Association, c/o Sam McCorkle, P.O. Box 700, West Fork, AR 72774.

Pallbearers were: Doyle Baker, Duane Baker, Richard Smith, O.L. Tanner, James Terhune, Norman Goldsborough, Sam McCorkle and Mitch McCorkle.
