Mrs. Stella M. McVay, 67, of Urbana, died Tuesday night in a local hospital. Born Nov. 15, 1900 in Potter, Ark., she was the daughter of Alfred and Alice Cole Murphy. She was a member of the Urbana Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, R. A. McVay of Urbana; a son, J. R. McVay of Lawson; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis Crawford of Lawson and Mrs. Ralph L. Jerry of El Dorado; and one sister, Mrs. Addie Jones of San Antonio, Tex. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Urbana Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Taylor officiating, and assisted by the Rev. Curtis Johnson. Burial will follow in the Rhodes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body was taken to the R. A. McVay home in Urbana at 4 p.m. Wednesday. (El Dorado Times - October 23, 1968)
