OAKLEY, Sidney - Funeral service for Sidney Oakley, 47, Henryetta, Okla. hotel man and a former resident of Rogers, was held at Oakley Chapel Saturday afternoon with the Rev. D.S. Brinkley, pastor of the First Baptist church, in charge. Mr. Oakley died at Henryetta Thursday following an illness of four months. Mr. Oakley was a 32nd degree Mason and the burial rites were in charge of the Rogers Masonic lodge. Mr. Oakley, who had been in the hotel business for a number of years, moved to Henryetta from Fort Smith about 10 years ago and had operated a hotel there continuously since that time. He was a member of the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of directors for several years. Mr. Oakley moved from Rogers about 28 years ago. He is survived by his widow; two sons, Kenneth and Robert; five sisters, Mrs. Fra Fergus, Mrs. John Dawson, Miss Lelia Oakley, Mrs. Mabel Hall of Chicago and Mrs. Hubert Roy, Detroit, Mich.; his mother, Mrs. Berry Oakley, Chicago and one brother, R.B. Oakley, Chicago. Mrs. Berry Oakley, R.B. Oakley and Mrs. Fergus attended the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Dawson were en route here from Los Angeles, Calif. by plane but were forced down at Albuquerque, N.M. by a snowstorm and were unable to continue the trip.
