Roderick Mitchell Powell, aged 91, passed away on February 2, 2025. He was born on November 23, 1933, to Clifford and Dolly Formby Powell in Patmos, Arkansas. Roderick was a devoted Razorback fan and served as a Deacon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where he also taught Sunday school and song director.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Wanda Powell, and his brother Lindy Powell.

Roderick is survived by his two daughters, Pam Bobo of Hot Springs and Paige Bobo of Hope; his three brothers, Rondale Powell, Hillary Powell, and Bernice Powell, all of Patmos; and his sister, Nancy Dean of Stamps. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Brandee McCaslin (Mark) of Little Rock, Mitch Bobo (Jill) of Hot Springs, Misti Dixon (Chris) of Arkadelphia, and Brian Bobo (Carrie) of Hope. His legacy continues with his seven great-grandchildren: Mason and Max McCaslin, Addison, Britann, Lydia, and Julia Bobo, and Sawyer Dixon, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am on Tuesday February 4, 2025, at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Mrs. Wanda Jean Powell, age 89, of Hope, passed away on Tuesday September 24, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1935, to Dale and Eva Brantley Cearley in Patmos. She spent most of her life working in Public Relations at Hope Public School, she was an active member in the Hope community working at KXAR Radio, the Hope Star, participated and photographed the aviation shows at the Hope Municipal Airport. She was an avid photographer. She also loved to garden, planting her flowers and trees.

Wanda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dale and Eva Cearley, and three brothers James, Paul, and Billy Cearley.

She is survived by her husband Roderick Powell, daughters Pam Bobo and Paige Bobo, son Chip Powell, one brother Ronald Cearley, sister Doris Santos, grandchildren Brandee (Mark) McCaslin, Mitchell (Jill) Bobo, Misti (Chris) Dixon, Brian (Carrie) Bobo, Fiona Powell, seven great grandchildren Mason McCaslin, Max McCaslin, Addison Bobo, Britann Bobo, Lydia Bobo, Julia Bobo, Sawyer Dixon, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside service will be Friday September 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
