Effie Dean Featherston, age 92 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away on January 28, 2025 at her home. She was born on February 5, 1932 in Texarkana, Arkansas, to the late James Roscoe Johnston and Willie Odell Womack Johnston.
Mrs. Featherston was a member of the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro. Over her lifetime she had several careers including teaching school, auditing records and a bank teller. She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed going to the casino, reading and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Edward Featherston and two sons, Edward Featherston and Charles Gregg Featherston.
Survivors include two sons, Jay Featherston and wife, Becky, and Will Featherston; four grandchildren, Brian Featherston, Andy Featherston, Katy Featherston and Grace Featherston; three great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Kendall and Saraphina Featherston; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
