Brenda Jane Matthews, age 61, of Lake Village, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at home with her family. She was born June 4, 1951 in Dermott, Arkansas to the late Charles O'Neal Parker and Mary M. King. She was a secretary for Lake Village Baptist Church and Lakeside School in Lake Village, and a member of the Lake Village Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles O'Neal Parker. Survivors are, husband, Gary D. Matthews of Lake Village, 2 sons, John O'Neal Matthews and wife, Robin, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Robert Todd Matthews and wife, Christy, of Glenwood, Arkansas; a daughter, Krista Matthews Perry and husband, Michael, of Lake Village; a brother, Michael Parker of Clinton, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, Nolan Weaver, Molly and Chloe Matthews, Hannah Perry, Josiah and Miriam Matthews, and her mother, Mary M. Parker.
Visitation is 5 to 7 PM Thursday December 6, 2012 at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 2:00PM Friday, December 7, 2012, at Lake Village Baptist Church in Lake Village with Bro. Mike Bell and Bro. Phillip Slaughter Officiating. Burial will follow in Portland Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
Memorial may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
