A Celebration of Life: Jessie "Punkin" Scoggins

Jessie Mae Moss Scoggins, affectionately known as "Punkin" to her loved ones, was born on September 24, 1950, in Hope, Arkansas, to the late Mrs. Carrie Moss Turner and Mr. J.C. White. She peacefully entered eternal rest on January 2, 2025, at Heather Manor Nursing Home in Hope.

Jessie confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, guided by her earthly father, Rev. J.C. White. Her devotion to her faith remained steadfast throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Yerger High School, Class of 1968, Jessie pursued further education at Texarkana Training School, earning a certificate in Business. Her career began at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and she later worked at TG&Y, Hope Public Schools, and Cal-Maine Foods, until retiring due to illness.

In 1972, Jessie was united in Holy Matrimony with Mr. Charlie Scoggins. Though their marriage ended after several years, Jessie's heart remained full with the love of her family and friends.

Jessie found joy in tending to her yard, often doing her own yard work with pride. When indoors, she enjoyed working on word find puzzles, a favorite pastime that brought her peace and relaxation.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie Williams; brothers Claude, Leon, and Henry Turner; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Lucy Lindsey (Lee); nieces, Debra Hale (Henry) and Sharon Whitaker (Calvin); nephews, John Anderson, Johnnie Lee Turner, Clarence Turner, Claude Turner, Henry Turner, Jr., and Luther Martin; cousin Bernice Cooper, who lovingly provided support during her final days; and a host of other cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends.
