Carolyn Jean Brooks, 89, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away December 26, 2024. She was born June 24, 1935 in Winfield, Kansas to Lewis Ramsey and Thelma White.
Carolyn was a devoted and loving mother to her four children—Karen, Donny, Shelly, and Dotchie. A woman of many talents, Carolyn’s passion for cooking led her to own and operate the Town Branch Grill in Huntsville, Arkansas. Carolyn also dedicated herself to caring for others as a nurse and was a skilled bulldozer operator. Her adventurous spirit was unmatched—she was a private pilot and proud member of the Ninety-Nines Inc., International Organization of Women Pilots. She enjoyed riding her Harley Trike, two-stepping, horses, tennis, card playing and socializing with friends and family. Carolyn’s creativity and love for life were evident in everything she did. She delighted in collecting salt and pepper shakers, quilting, crafting, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her beloved dogs. Above all, Carolyn was known for her boundless love, her bright smile and cheerful demeanor.
She is survived by her long-time partner, Wayne Clark of Rogers; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen Brooks of Southlake, Texas, Shelly and Dan Johns of Spring, Texas, and Dotchie and James Warren of Huntsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Donny and Traci Brooks of Grand Prairie, Texas; eight grandchildren, Lee, Doug, Spencer, Taylor, Mathew, Amy, Ryan and Reagan; and two great-grandchildren, Rheyanna and Harrison; one sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Russell Fischer of Clear Lake; one niece, Jill; and one nephew, Jeffrey.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
