Betty Lou Hampton Morgan of Fordyce, AR left this world for her Heavenly home Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at the age of 73. She was born July 7, 1942 in Vanndale, AR, the daughter of the late George L. Hampton and Ila Mae Walker Hampton, before moving to Warren, AR.
She was a devout Christian and active member of Fordyce First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed celebrating and sharing her love for the Lord with her ladies' Sunday school group.
She was a loving mother who devoted many precious years to making a home and raising her two beloved sons in their former hometown of Longview, TX, and a proud Nana to four grandchildren who were the lights of her life.
In addition to her years as a homemaker, she also had years of experience in retail sales where she enjoyed working with the public and, as she was wont to do, making friends with everyone she met. Most recently, she worked for Fordyce Schools where she was able to touch the lives of many children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Hampton. She leaves behind her two sons, Scott Morgan and wife Tammy, Lance Morgan and wife Tammy, all of Sheridan, AR; one sister, Georgia Williams of Warren, AR; one brother, Phillip Hampton and wife Pat of Sandwich, MA; former husband James Bud' Morgan of Fordyce, AR; a dear friend Louise Saunders of Longview, TX; and four grandchildren: Lily, Ava, Emerson, and Aidan.
Funeral service was 2:00pm Thursday October 29, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Rusty Ross officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and Gayle Wilson soloist. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery, in Warren. Active pallbearers were Ronnie Ferguson, Clark Watkins, Chase McCollum, Billy Ingle, Rusty Lynn and Greg Dust.
