Clara Lou Loper, 88, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away August 8, 2015. She was born May 2, 1927, in Jamesport, Missouri, to the late Victor and Edna (Collier) Smith. Clara was of the Baptist faith. She is predeceased by her husband, Troy Loper; son, Troy Glen Loper; brother, James Henry Smith; and sister, Stella Mae Kizer; Survivors include granddaughter, Jennifer Nelson and husband; sister, Mary Cockrell; and step-daughter, Loretta Bond. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Cook officiating. Burial will be at Morning Star Cemetery. Pallbearers include Lloyd Howerton, Willy Howerton, Gene Butler, Jay Cockrell, and Edward Kizer. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the nurses and CNAs at Quapaw Care and Rehab for the wonderful care they offered, and also to Sandra Howerton her granddauther and faithful companion, and to all the Nurses and Doctors at St. Vincent 2 East who cared for Clara.
