*When Roy Edward Files and his twin brother Harry Paul were born on August 31, 1903, in Little Rock, Arkansas, their father, Harry, was 27, and their mother, Rose, was 22. He married Velma Ernestine Cheatham and they had five children together. He then married Veloria Josephine "Vee" Ayers and they had one daughter together. He died on September 30, 1984, in McRae, Arkansas, at the age of 81, and was buried in Alexander, Arkansas.
Roy Edward Files and Velma Ernestine Cheatham were divorced on December 10, 1946, in Pulaski, Arkansas, after 20 years of marriage. He was 43 years old.
Veloria Josephine "Vee" Ayers was born on July 22, 1908, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She married Roy Edward Files on June 1, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. She died on September 7, 1982, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 74, and was buried in Alexander, Arkansas.
