Claude Britt Wilson, 81, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010. He was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Claude received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
He was a member of the Arkansas Academy of Civil Engineers, Fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Associated General Contractors and American Waterworks Association.
His employment career was with ALCOA, Interstate Highway Sign Company, Weaver-Bailey Contractors, and Lawrence Bros., Inc. He was co-owner of VALCO, Inc., a heavy highway construction company, specializing in bridge construction. He was president of VALCO for sixteen years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia; daughter, Lenore W. Merrell and her husband, Arnold R, Merrell; sister-in-law, Sarah H. Pruss and her husband, Edward Pruss; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Lakewood United Methodist Church, North Little Rock with Reverend Richard Lancaster officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were; Bill Dodson, Michael P. Marlar, Jason Merrell, Spencer Merrell, Stanley Pruss, and Dwight Weems.
Honorary pallbearers were; Harold Davis, Harold Gwatney, Joe L. McKinstry, William L. Moore, C. Q. Speck, Dr. Fay O. Wardlaw, and Robert J. Wilson.

Virginia Haws Wilson, 88, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Claude B. Wilson.
Virginia was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church of North Little Rock. She attended North Little public schools and University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She was also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
She worked for Valco, Inc., a highway bridge contractor in North Little Rock, co-owned by her husband for sixteen years.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Lenore Wilson Merrell and her husband, Arnold R. Merrell of Little Rock, a sister; Sarah H. Pruss and her husband, Edward J Pruss of North Little Rock, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5, Alexander, Arkansas on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 10:00 A.M..
