Helen Geneva Hicks age 90 of El Dorado, AR, formerly of Dodge City passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. Helen was born on February 18, 1929 in Summerfield, LA to the late Ella Louise Mills Bailey and Samuel Elmore Bailey. Helen was a longtime member of Trinity Chapel Assembly of God and was a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert L. Hicks; one sister, Maudrie Watson; three brothers, Ted Bailey, Jack Bailey, and George Bailey; and by her son in law, Charles Mallow
Survivors include; one son, Bob L. Hicks and wife Sandra of Dodge City; three daughters, Rebecca Mallow of Carmi, IL, Vickie Porter and husband Toney of Hampton, AR, and Pamela K. Cobb and husband Keith of Haughton, LA; one brother, Bobby Bailey and wife Sue of Haynesville, LA; ten grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; also, a life long family friend, Retta Cowser.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado, with Bro. Bill Odom and Bro. Bill Yutzy officiating. Burial will follow at Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado. Pallbearers will be: Saul Porter, Justin Porter, Garron Hicks, Corey Hicks, West Baldwin and Jason Staggs.
