Son of Ambrose Franklin Hamm and Justine Irene Nally Monroe
Elizabeth Kathleen "Kaye" Hamm-Wooden, 80 years old, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Fort Smith. She was a loving and tender homemaker, a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for 16 years, a sorority sister of Eastern Star and a member of the Swinging Eights Square Dance Club. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ambrose "Jack" Hamm; her parents, Floyd and Mae Young; her brother, J.C. Young; and great-grandson, Andrew Moates. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Van Buren Freewill Baptist Church, 4874 Alma Highway, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in south Fort Smith. Kaye is survived by her husband, the Rev. Jeff D. Wooden Jr.; one daughter, Sharon Cameron and her husband, Floyd Cameron of Mountainburg, and their four sons and wives, Michael and Tonya Cameron of Norwalk, Conn., Glenn and Elizabeth Cameron of Fort Smith, Christopher and Emily Cameron of Conroe, Texas, and James and Heather Cameron of Greenwood; one son, Gary Dale Hamm and his wife, Amelia Hamm of Fort Smith, and their three daughters and husbands, and one son and wife, Scheri and Lee Scarlett, Vanessa and John Moates, Mary Elizabeth Hamm, Gary Dale Ambrose and Tarah Hamm; 16 great-grandchildren, Saylor, Sierra and Sage Lee Scarlett, Kendrick, Ethan and Samuel Moates, Jack and Jacob Hamm, Tiffany Comeaux and Sarah Cameron, Megan Behrends, Audrey and Jackson Cameron and Avery, Aizia and Deacon Cameron; two stepdaughters and two stepsons; and her sweet cat, Snowball. Pallbearers will be Gary Dale Ambrose Hamm Jr., Michael Cameron, Glenn Cameron, Christopher Cameron, James Cameron, Lee Scarlett, John Moates and Kendrick Moates. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Moates and Bill Wooden. Kaye, our dearest "Me Me," will be remembered for her elegant, classy style, her fun and witty humor and, most of all, her deepest love and affection for her family. Her daily presence in their lives will be greatly missed.
