Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Christine Eiland, age 81, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Haynesville, LA with Rev. Tim Herrington officiating. Interment will follow in Jolley Cemetery, Junction City, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eiland was born on April 3, 1934 to Jesse Judson and Clara Evelyn Gammil Rowland in Hampton, AR and passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 in Homer, LA. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Homer and was a retired ward clerk at Homer Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed helping others, fishing and flowers and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Cecil Bryan Eiland; two sons, Lonny Henley of Smackover, AR, Don Henley and wife, Gladys of Smackover, AR; three daughters, Pat Henley of El Dorado, Shirley Scarbrough of El Dorado, Sandy Stead and husband, Joe of Bonnerdale, AR; four step-children, Barney Eiland and wife, Lorrie of FL, Vicki Locke and husband, Randy of Houston, TX, Keith Eiland and wife, Sherell of Camden, AR, Ken Eiland and wife, Daniella of Spring Lake, NC; two brothers, Jimmy Rowland and wife, Ruth of St. Louis, MO, Sonny Rowland and wife, Sarah of Kingsland, AR; sister, Diane Crawley and husband, Gary of Benton, AR; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Eiland was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Meagan Payne, Joey Moore; and brothers, Howard Wayne Rowland, Jesse Gammil Rowland and Walter Lee Rowland.
