Mrs. Mary Alice Daugherty Lauhon, 89, of Hamburg, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Lauhon was a native and life long resident of Hamburg and Ashley County and a resident of the Promise Land Community outside of Hamburg since 1974. She was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, a homemaker and she worked for Daughtery Grocery & Market for many years.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Troy Daugherty; her parents, William & Ossie Lovette Wallace; two sisters, Vena Mae Wallace Higginbotham and Vera Wallace Wilson and two brothers, T.P. & Haywood Wallace.

She is survived by her husband, of 43 years, Harry Lauhon of Hamburg; three sons, Charles Daugherty and wife, Jean, of Dallas, TX; Lavelle Daugherty and wife, Helen, of Cleveland, MS and David Daugherty and wife, Cathy, of Winnsboro, TX; three step-sons, Dale Lauhon and wife, Jan; Gerald Lauhon and wife, Betty, and Philip Lauhon and wife, Hilda, all of Hamburg; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Reese officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jackie & Ronnie Lauhon, Marc Collins, Andrew Hartshorn, Neal, Sean, Todd & Mark Daugherty, Kevin Smith and Mike Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Dewey (Scutter) Kilcrease, Don Kelley, Roger White, Norval Lee Cecil, Buddy Kilcrease, Steve Collins, Charles Wells, Travis Wallace and Jim Wells. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, PO Box 30, Hamburg, AR 71646.
